Happy Valentine's Day

My Monkey Boy

Love this little monkey more than words. He melts me with his wild ways. I love watching him tear around the house with a monkey clutched under one arm.

Little Miss at 3 Months

Sheesh! This little cutie is adorable! She was not very cooperative for the first little while. Once she snuck in a cat nap the session went by super fast. Her big brothers helped me fill the time for some individual photos. I super love the new pixie hat I made a couple weeks ago. Little Miss LOVES her some tummy time. She even threw me some little smiles.

Thing One and Thing Two

Wednesday was a cra-zay day! These little tykes came to spend the day with us. We had three 16 month old toddlers and two 3 year olds running around. It was...well...FUN! I took a creative break and played with my lights while the 3 year olds were at preschool. These two adorables helped me out. My son was glad to have someone else in my soft box light. The twins are 10 days younger than my son. I foresee besties! Little princess is such a ham. I had to coax one smile from the boy. I used Lightroom for the first time to publish these. Yep! My brother sent me Lightroom AND Photoshop CS5. Geeze!

Cowboy Dimples

HAD to capture my little guy's cute backside. What better props to show it off than just boots, a gun, and cowboy hat?! I taped smarties to the backdrop so he would not show me the important stuff. He was not feeling so great last night...hence the red cheeks. It was his red cheeks that gave me the idea!

Fresh and New

Check out this little handsome man. Goodness, his cuteness is beyond words. I really enjoyed working with his family. Little man has a cute big sister and amazing parents. This was my first session using my strobe lights! Mmmmm, love?! Cut my editing down more than half. I hope to see more of you in the future!

Proper Exposure

I am so excited to show you these darling children! I love how each child is so different but clearly belongs in the family. Thanks to the Mom for coming a couple hours before our scheduled time, no wind in the winter is a big deal! She also watched my screaming toddler during the shoot. Some dear friends reminded me of the amazing uses of a gray card. I used the card to calibrate for white balance and exposure. Worked like a charm cutting my post processing time in half. Yipee! Can you believe those blue eyes? Amazing!

Handsome Dude

Meet an amazing kid. I teach piano, this is one of my students. He cracks me up with an amazing sense of humor. A month or so ago he turned 12, a milestone in the Mormon religion, and received the Aaronic Priesthood. We captured this important time of his life. That smile melts! Watch out Mom!

Thirteen Reasons to Brave the Cold

I met with this family last weekend. I serve with lovely lady in the photo above in the Primary at our church. This motley crew is their family. It was beyond cold that day, later on we had freezing sleet and rain! I was sweating the details during this photoshoot. The lighting was terrible, very dim and gray. I put my camera to the limits bumping up the ISO to cra-zay levels. Excuse the graininess. We were only outside less than 40 minutes. For 13 folks that is amazing!
